Northerns Cricket Union
CATHSSETA, in partnership with Northerns Cricket Union and eta College ran a very successful skills programme for 20 candidates based with Northerns Cricket Union. This skills programme, Sport Club Administration at NQF Level 4 teaches the learners the following skills:
- Basic computer literacy,
- Financial management and budgeting,
- Basic inventory and control techniques and reporting,
- Database design and population,
- Time management strategies,
- Understanding personal and organisational values and ethics,
- Meeting procedures and protocols,
- Presentation skills, and
- Group and team building activities.
Western Province Cricket Association
Again CATHSSETA funded the training of 10 candidates in partnership with Western Province Cricket Association (WPCA) and eta College. Again, the skills programme Sport Club Administration was successfully completed.

- Learners have been exposed to the administrator and management team of WPCA,
- Several of the learners were appointed managers for the grassroots tournament as a direct result of their work on the skills programme,
- There was evidence of growth in learner self confidence and confidence in ability,
- Learners discussed and identified how they could align what they have learnt to what is needed administratively in their areas, communities and clubs.
